Information We Collect
Personal Information
When you register on Wakeel Booking, we collect your full name, phone number, email address, city of residence, and password. For lawyers, we additionally collect your Bar Council license number, CNIC number, area of specialization, years of experience, and consultation fee.
Usage Information
We automatically collect information about how you use our platform, including pages visited, searches performed, lawyers viewed, bookings made, and time spent on each section. This helps us improve the platform experience.
Payment Information
Payment transactions are processed through JazzCash and Easypaisa. We do not store your full payment credentials. We only retain transaction IDs, amounts, and timestamps for record-keeping and dispute resolution.
Communication Data
All in-app chat messages between users and lawyers are stored securely on our servers. Voice call metadata (duration, time, date) is logged but call content is not recorded unless required by law.
Device Information
We collect device type, operating system, browser type, IP address, and location data (city level only) to provide location-relevant lawyer suggestions and ensure platform security.
How We Use Your Information
Service Delivery
Your information is used to create and manage your account, connect you with verified lawyers, process bookings and payments, facilitate in-app consultations, and send booking confirmations and reminders.
Platform Improvement
We analyze usage patterns to improve search algorithms, recommendation systems, and user interface design. All analytical data is aggregated and anonymized before use in product decisions.
Safety & Verification
Lawyer information including Bar Council license numbers and CNICs are verified against official records to ensure only legitimate advocates operate on our platform. This protects users from fraudulent practitioners.
Legal Compliance
We may use your information to comply with applicable Pakistani laws, respond to lawful requests from government authorities, prevent fraud, and enforce our Terms of Service.
Marketing Communications
With your consent, we may send promotional messages about new features, special offers, or legal tips. You can opt out of marketing communications at any time through your account settings.
Information Sharing
With Lawyers
When you book a consultation, your name, case type, and selected time slot are shared with the relevant lawyer. Your phone number and email are never shared with lawyers — all communication happens through our secure in-app system.
With Payment Processors
Transaction details are shared with JazzCash and Easypaisa solely for the purpose of processing payments. These partners operate under their own privacy policies and are bound by Pakistani financial regulations.
With Legal Authorities
We will disclose user information to law enforcement or regulatory bodies only when legally required to do so, such as in response to a valid court order or government request under Pakistani law.
We Never Sell Your Data
Wakeel Booking does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for marketing or advertising purposes. Your data is never monetized without your explicit consent.
Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of Wakeel Booking, user data may be transferred to the new entity. You will be notified via email at least 30 days before any such transfer occurs.
Data Security
Encryption
All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using TLS 1.3 protocol. Sensitive data including passwords are hashed using bcrypt with a minimum cost factor of 12 before storage.
In-App Communication
All chat messages between users and lawyers are end-to-end encrypted. This means only the sender and recipient can read the messages — not even Wakeel Booking employees can access message content.
Access Controls
Access to user data within our organization is strictly limited to employees who require it to perform their job functions. All internal access is logged and regularly audited by our security team.
Incident Response
In the event of a data breach, we will notify affected users within 72 hours of discovery. We will provide details of what data was affected, what we are doing to address it, and steps you can take to protect yourself.
Infrastructure Security
Our platform is hosted on enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure with automated threat detection, DDoS protection, and regular penetration testing by independent security researchers.
Your Rights
Access Your Data
You have the right to request a complete copy of all personal data we hold about you. Submit a data access request through your account settings or by emailing support@wakeelbooking.com. We will respond within 14 business days.
Correct Your Data
If any information we hold about you is incorrect or incomplete, you can update it directly through your account profile. For data that cannot be self-corrected, contact our support team.
Delete Your Account
You may request complete deletion of your account and all associated data at any time. Note that we are legally required to retain certain financial transaction records for 7 years as per Pakistani tax law.
Data Portability
You can request an export of your data in a machine-readable format (JSON or CSV) at any time. This includes your profile information, booking history, and consultation records.
Withdraw Consent
Where we process your data based on consent (such as marketing emails), you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing prior to withdrawal.
Cookies & Tracking
Essential Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies to maintain your login session and remember your preferences such as dark/light mode. These cookies cannot be disabled as they are required for the platform to function.
Analytics Cookies
With your consent, we use analytics cookies to understand how users navigate our platform. This data is aggregated and helps us identify which features are most useful and where users encounter difficulties.
Managing Cookies
You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings. Note that disabling certain cookies may affect platform functionality. A cookie consent banner will appear on your first visit.
Data Retention
Active Accounts
We retain your personal data for as long as your account remains active. You will receive an email if your account has been inactive for 24 consecutive months asking if you wish to keep it active.
Deleted Accounts
When you delete your account, your personal profile data is permanently deleted within 30 days. However, anonymized usage data may be retained for statistical purposes indefinitely.
Financial Records
Transaction records and payment history are retained for 7 years following the date of transaction as required by Pakistani tax and financial regulations. This data cannot be deleted upon request.
Chat Messages
In-app consultation messages are retained for 2 years from the date of the consultation to allow users to reference past legal advice. You may request deletion of specific conversations through support.
